Colloid Mill

1. What does a Colloid Mill do?

A Colloid Mill is a machinery that is utilized for reducing the particle size of a solid in suspension in a liquid or to reduce the droplet sizes in emulsions. It is highly beneficial to increase the stability of the suspension and emulsions. Its operational use includes grinding, dispersing, and homogenizing of ointment, gels, creams, and any high viscous liquid in a single operation. The Lab Colloid mill excels in laboratories for research and development purposes which is also known as R&D colloid mills or Mini Colloid mill or Compact Colloid mill.

2. What is the working principle behind the Colloid Mill?

It works on the rotor-stator principle wherein the rotor turns at high speeds. This equipment breaks down material by forming a dispersion of material in a liquid. Shearing is initiated in a narrow gap between the static cone which is called the stator and the rotor, which is a rapidly rotating cone.

3. What are the advantages of using a Colloid Mill?

a. It helps in the comminution of slurry and fluid substances

b. There is no pressure required for ionization

c. It is a simple machine with a low noise level, adjustable, and easy to be cleaned

d. It is ideal for high-capacity productions with low minimal.

4. What does the energy consumption of a Colloid Mill depend on?

a. The Viscosity of the product

b. The Feed Rate

c. The temperature during the processing

Starch Paste Kettle

1. What is a Starch paste kettle and what are its uses?

The Starch paste kettle is a simple piece of equipment that is jacketed and semi- hemispherical which makes the paste ready for granulation in equipment like high Shear Mixers and fluid bed granulators. Water is added inside the bowl for heating and after it gets heated, starch or other binders are added to make a binder or paste. This is most beneficial in the chemicals, food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industry.

2. How does a Starch paste kettle work?

It is made out of a gauge which is stainless steel material. The loose lid cover is opened to load the starch into the container. As per the product requirements, preservatives or emulsifiers are poured into the starch. There is an anchor stirrer blade that stirs the paste and any excess filling in it is removed. The steam is provided in the jacket or thermic fluid filled in the jacket as the case may be. The heaters achieve the desired temperature and the stirrer is started. The storage container then gets placed below the hand wheel to receive the finished paste.

3. What makes a Starch Paste Kettle convenient to be used?

A Starch Paste Kettle is a user-friendly and simple designed product. It is highly durable and resistant to any form of corrosion. Renowned manufacturers even customize this as per the client requirement. The Mini Starch paste kettle saves the requirement for space. There are also the Lab Starch paste kettles available highly used in research and development known as the R&D Starch paste kettles, which is also known as Small Starch Paste Kettles .

Vibro Sifter

1. What is the role of a Vibro sifter?

They are circulatory unitary gyratory screens used extensively for the separation of any mass composition from solid to solid, liquid from solid, and also for gradation of material as per their particle size. It uses the vibratory motion to shake the sieves filter, sieve, or separate materials for direct use or further processing. The material to be separated is fed through a hopper. Once power is passed after clamping its basic components, the vibrating motor creates a motion for the sieve. The material then starts getting separated as per the size.

2. What benefits do I get while using a Vibro Sifter?

A few benefits of including the Vibro sifter in the production process is-

a. It is high-speed service machinery that saves on energy, cost, and maintenance.

b. Safety in the premises can be ensured where it is used as the body is built up of a flameproof material

c. It is Compact, versatile, and portable which makes it convenient to use.

d. There are double and triple screen variation options available in the Vibro Sifter. The adjustability of weight and the relative angle between them makes it possible for the material to move on the screen in the desired path.

3. What are the uses of Vibro Sifters in various industries?

Vibro Sifters ensure the elimination of any contamination and uniform particle size at the end of the process. Since preciseness is the output, this machinery becomes very critical in industries like the pharmaceutical industry where the efficacy could be altered with a slight mismatch in the quality and quantity of the raw material. The food and beverage industry also makes heavy use of the Vibro Sifters. There are Small Vibro sifters, also known as Mini Vibro sifters or Compact Vibro Sifters, or Lab Vibro Sifter which are used for testing in the laboratory or for a small patch of processing that may be required for further analysis. The R&D Vibro sifters use the state of the art technology for research and development purposes.
